New Chief Executive for Cynon Taf Community Housing Group

We are delighted to announce that Victoria Slade has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Cynon Taf Community Housing Group.

Victoria is currently Director of Operations at Merthyr Valleys Homes, a position she has held since 2011, and has been part of the Senior Management Team who delivered Wales’ first tenant and staff owned mutual. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Group, as well as a focus on working in partnership with tenants and clients. Before coming to live and work in Wales, Victoria worked for the Audit Commission in England, and is a voluntary Board member of a local social enterprise.

Victoria said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as the next Chief Executive of Cynon Taf Community Housing Group. It’s a vibrant and community-focussed organisation and I’m really excited to be joining the tenants, clients, staff and Board members for the next stage of the organisation’s journey.

Whilst I will be sad to leave the great tenants and staff at Merthyr Valleys Homes, I look forward to working in partnership with Michelle and the team there, as we continue to celebrate the strong and resilient valleys communities in which we live and work.”

Victoria was appointed following a robust recruitment process with an impressive field of candidates. She succeeds our current Chief Executive Michelle Reid, who will be joining Merthyr Valleys Homes in April. The recruitment process involved a range of Board Members, tenants and staff from all areas of the Group, and was lead by CTCHG Group Chair, Joy Kent.

Joy said “We are delighted to welcome Victoria to the Cynon Taf family. Victoria’s values and enthusiasm for our community focus shone through her interviews. As Chair, I am very much looking forward to working in partnership with Victoria to deliver on all our plans for the future.”

Nicola Evans, Chair of Merthyr Valleys Homes said “We will be very sad to say goodbye to Victoria but we’re so pleased for her in securing this great new role with one of our closest partner organisations. Victoria has been instrumental in leading and delivering on the promises we made to tenants, and has supported the creation of our mutual. We look forward to exciting partnership work ahead between our two organisations.”
