Tenants’ Forum secure almost £10K to create ‘Working Together’ Project
The Tenants’ Forum of Cynon Taf Community Housing Group is delighted to announce their success in securing £9,921 to fund a ‘Working Together’ project.
The project has become possible thanks to a successful application to the National Lottery Funded Awards for All. The money will be used to fund a 6 month project, directly benefiting the tenants of Cynon Taf Community Housing Group.
The Tenants’ Forum applied for the funding with the objective of encouraging interaction between the existing Forum, which is made up of tenants aged around 55 years, and the younger people that live in our Cynon Taf homes and communities.
It is envisaged that by working together, creating space for shared knowledge and learning, it will build positive relationships and demonstrate the importance of capturing the views of tenants from all ages.
Dyfrig Roberts, Chair of the Tenants’ Forum said;
“I am thrilled that we have been successful in securing this money. I have been involved with the Tenants’ Forum for over 20 years, and although we are a well established group, we do, unfortunately, lack the views & voices of the younger people in our homes.
This project will give us the opportunity to meet, work with & build positive relationships with the young people and ensure their voices are heard in all we do.”
The ‘Working Together’ project will be made up of various activities, events and trips, with the aim to create community cohesion between groups of different ages.
The project is due to commence on 1st April 2019, and will benefit our tenants living with Rhondda Cynon Taf.
